Description:
The Renton History Museum is a community center that represents the heritage and history of the city of Renton. There are more than 90,000 historical objects and more than 15,000 photos that represent the life of the city.
The main goal of the Renton History Museum is to document and preserve different historical facts about the city. The museum also tries to educate and engage people of all ages.
As for the collections, there are different historical objects that include furniture, clothing and other artifacts that tell a lot about the life of the city. All the pictures that are exhibited here represent the life of the period 1880-1940.
Visitors of the Renton History Museum will have the opportunity to visit the Museum’s Research Room. Here you will enjoy the collection of local newspapers dated back to 1930-1980, high school yearbooks, city directories and other interesting artifacts. Visitors of the museum may also hear 145 interesting oral histories, the collection of which is getting bigger every year.
Several words should be said about the building of the Museum. It is an Art Deco-style building constructed in 1942, where a former fire station was situated.
