Description:

Hearing about the Sunset Hill Park for the first time and trying to imagine it you would probably think about an adorable green park located on the hillside with a lot of trees and flowers, a lot of pathways winding around it, and a great view opening at the sunset time. But don’t let the name of the park put you on a false track. It’s not really a park in its usual meaning.

One can describe the Sunset Hill Park just as a narrow strip of grass stretching along the coast. On one side the park is bounded by a street with quite expensive view homes, on the other side – by a chain-link fence. It’s not big, it doesn’t have any monuments or fountains or any other pieces of artwork interesting for the tourists to make good photos with.

But it possesses one feature, which makes this place unbelievably special, which makes it a place where you desire to come back again and again…. And this is its view. The breathtaking view of the Puget Sound, Shilshole and Elliot bays. If you come there at a sunny, clear day, you will be able to enjoy the view of the entire chain of the Olympic Mountains.

The Sunset Hill Park is located just above the Shilshole Bay Marina and during the warm months you can take delight in watching numerous sailboats and yachts sailing in the bay. Wintertime sometimes brings the storms which also become quite a magnificent view to enjoy.

A lot of grass and serenity of the park (with lack of traffic noise and absence of crowds) make this park a perfect place for a picnic. There are also few benches along the walking path, as well as some picnic tables, so that you can just sit there, smelling the fragrance of the sea air and admiring the panoramic view.

And of course (you can see it even from the name of the park) it is the most famous for its magnificent sunsets.

A lot of couples chose the Sunset Hill Park as a place for their marriage ceremony. This is really a unique, marvelous place, so keep it in mind for the most special events of your life.
