History

Crystal Mountain Resort Winter 15Crystal Mountain’s history goes back to the 1800’s, when prospectors came here when gold was found in the Cascade Mountains. Crystal Mountain was a part of Summit Mining District and mining was the main industry in this region until World War I. The resort was opened in 1962 and already in 1965 the National Alpine Championships were held here. In 1997, the resort was bought by Boyne USA. The company invested more than $25 million in the resort improvements. These improvements have made Crystal Mountain one of the best and most famous winter and summer resorts in Washington as well as on the West Coast.

Crystal Mountain Resort offers its guests numerous and wonderful opportunities for winter and summer recreation and provides stunning views of the Cascades and Mount Rainier.
