Marvel at the natural beauty of a horse camp at Silver Lake Park Red Mountain Campground. It’s an amazing place for family fun, large group meetings, RV, tent and horse camping.
Red Mountain Campground is one of the camping areas at Silver Lake Park Campground. The campground is a perfect destination where you can take your horse camping with you. It’s a truly wonderful location with equestrian trail access, open fields, long forest roads. Enjoy Black Mountain Trail and Red Mountain Campground Trail.
You will find 28 individual campsites with water and electrical hookups, fire pits at each site and lots of picnic tables located throughout the campground. There is no problem with parking as the campground boasts large horse trailer parking areas. There are stalls, 2 stables for park users. You can also find 2 covered kitchen shelters with amenities: picnic tables, sinks and electric stovetops.
You will find a great number of recreation activities there:
- horseback riding;
- picnicking;
- nature viewing;
- walking;
- cooking;
- camping.
Besides horseback riding you can also enjoy hiking, photography and club meetings. Find yourself in this unique location with trails and beautiful area to ride your horse with access to the wood roads.

To get there from Bellingham, Wa:
- From I-5 take the Sunset Drive exit (255) and go east
- Sunset Drive becomes WA-542 E; continue approximately 25 miles
- Turn left onto Silver Lake Rd
- Drive about 4 miles and turn right into Silver Lake Park
