Picture Lake Trail is a wonderful 0.5-mile trail that opens gorgeous views. Picture Lake is one of the main attractions in the Heather Meadows area. The beauty of this area is indescribable. The perfect picture of Mt. Shuksan is mirrored in the lake.
It goes without saying that photographers adore this place; this picture is one of the most photographed in the state.
Picture Lake Trail is a wonderful hike for the families. A well-maintained pavement-and-boardwalk path goes around Picture Lake; it is accessible from different points and is wheelchair-accessible. Tourists say that the best time to hike here is fall, because of the colorful plant foliage that make it just a perfect spot.
But we should say summer is also beautiful here. Different wildflowers, gorgeous colors and the breathtaking view of the mountain mirrored in the lake.
This short hike also offers other short offshoot trails that are worth your exploring, as well as it offers beautiful views of Ruth Mountain to the east, Table Mountain to the south and Mount Herman to the west.
