Lake Wilderness Park is a 117-acre park located in the city of Maple Valley. The park offers wonderful recreational possibilities. Hiking, bicycling, swimming, fishing and boating are very popular here.

The park also attracts a great number of people thanks to its’ 40-acre arboretum. This park has about 100 picnic tables, wonderful tennis courts, walking paths, children’s play areas, a baseball field, etc.

The city of Maple Valley received the Lake Wilderness Park from King County in 2003. Nowadays, this park is considered to be one of the best regional parks, which offers wonderful shoreline, green forest and well-maintained paths. Lake Wilderness Park also features three wetlands. It is home for a great variety of animals and birds, including beavers, raccoons, deer, ruffed grouses, etc.

Lake Wilderness Trail is an 8-mile loop trail that provides stunning views of wild flowers and is good for all skill levels. The trail is accessible year-round. Dogs are also allowed on the trail but they must be kept on leash.

Visitors also can find the most beautiful Maple Valley's Lake Wilderness Arboretum. It is a public garden  with 42 acres of forest trails and display gardens. Visit and enjoy wonderful flowers and gardens.

Fishing at the park is one of the greatest ways to spend your time here. Fishing at the park is allowed from dawn to dusk.

The park itself is open at 7 a.m. and works till dusk all year round. Fireworks, weapons, open fires, camping, drugs and alcohol are not allowed in the park. Please, follow park rules carefully.

Directions:

From I-405

Take the Maple Valley Hwy. exit and continue driving south. Follow the Maple Valley Hwy. -SR 169 to Witte Road. Turn right at the light and drive to SE 248th St. Turn left and follow SE 248th. Turn left into the park entrance.
