The city of Seattle has numerous small parks that are considered to be real gems. Bhy Kracke Park is one of these parks. This small 1.5 acre park is located on the eastern part of Queen Anne Hill.

It offers great views of the Seattle’s skyline, the central part of the city, Lake Union, Capitol Hill, the Space Needle and the Cascades.

It should be also said that this small park is situated in a residential area and some tourists say that it is hard to find it. It seems that Bhy Kracke Park is divided into two parts. The one that is situated on the top of the hill offers wonderful possibilities for sitting, relaxing and enjoying the views. Here visitors will find benches, drinking fountain and a bike rack. Everything is created here for your relaxation.

When you walk down the hill you will find the second part of the park. It is a kid-friendly park and has a nice play area. Be sure to enjoy azaleas, rhododendrons, and more views on your way down the hill.

This small park also gives the opportunity to have a picnic with your kids or friends. Here visitors will find comfortable picnic tables and benches.

The park got its name thanks to Werner Kracke who had the nickname “Bhy” or “Bye”. He was named this way because the man really liked the expression “by cracky” that was extremely popular in the late 1800s.

Mr. Kracke was the resident of this area and he decided to donate the land for the park in order to save the great views. He also donated the money for the developing of the park.

It should be also said that Bhy Kracke Park is situated closely to the Kerry Park. But tourists say that it is much more interesting, because there are not so many people here, the views are much better and it is more peaceful.
